Climate change article in Search journal

Climate change and what churches and individuals can do to shield future generations and vulnerable populations from its worst effects is the subject of the leading article in the latest edition of the Church of Ireland journal Search.

In an article titled After Copenhagen: What Good News for Creation? Paula Clifford, head of theology for Christian Aid, urges continuing pressure on governments, both from churches and individuals, to take action, however painful, to save the planet. While the USA and China appear to have most to answer for, no developed country should be exempt from paying for polluting habits of the past and reforming its lifestyle accordingly, she argues.

Otherwise, the developing countries that stand to suffer most from rising sea levels may simply not survive.
