At the Earth Summit in Brazil in 1992 a 12-year-old Canadian schoolgirl, Severn Suzuki, berated world leaders for allowing greed and apathy to destroy the environment and jeopardise the future of our planet. “If you don’t know how to fix it, stop breaking it,” she said.
17 years later, children aged from 6 to 18 are invited to explain online – in 20 words – why world leaders should consider them when signing climate change treaties, what is precious about our world and why it’s worth saving.
It is they who have the most to lose if Copenhagen falls short of what is required. See
