Would you like to learn more about recycling?

recycling binsWould you like to learn more about recycling, what can or cannot be recycled and why? If you live in the greater Belfast area, then here’s your chance!

Belfast City Council recycling officers can visit for free for an informal chat, presentation or information stand.

To find out more contact Naomi Palmer – a Recycling Education Officer in Belfast City Council’s Waste Management Service – at [email protected]  or call 0800 032 8100.

Naomi is keen to visit church groups, or adult groups that meet in church premises, to talk to them about recycling. The council is under pressure to increase the recycling rate in Belfast and is trying to reach out to the local community to get more people to use their recycling bins. If local residents have questions or need more information about what they can or cannot recycle and why, Naomi would be happy to speak to them.

This is a free service for Belfast groups and events could take the form of a formal talk, a practical workshop, a friendly chat over a cuppa, or an information point. This is suitable for parent and toddler groups, seniors groups, men’s groups, Mothers Union, Women’s Institute, lunch clubs, craft clubs, gardening clubs etc.

Naomi can also provide short articles on recycling for newsletters and/or websites.

Anyone interested in booking a free visit or workshop can get in touch by email or phone (details above).
