The G8 is coming to Fermanagh in June! The Group of Eight (G8), a forum for the governments of the world’s eighth wealthiest countries, will be meeting in Fermanagh on June 16 & 17.
On Sunday June 16 a special pre-G8 service will be held in St Macartin’s Church of Ireland Cathedral, Enniskillen at 3pm. The guest speaker will be the Archbishop of York, the Most Rev Dr John Sentamu, and the musicians will include the Ulster Orchestra and The Priests.
It is hoped the service, which is being organised by four local churches in conjunction with Trócaire, Christian Aid and Tearfund, will raise awareness of the causes of global hunger as world leaders will be called on to act to end hunger worldwide.
All are welcome to attend the service, but you are strongly advised to leave home in plenty of time. Traffic disruption is likely to be massive!
