One Hundred Mornings, which opened in cinemas throughout Ireland on 6th May, seeks to portray a rapid societal breakdown based on a peak oil scenario. The film is set in Ireland 10 weeks after all the lights have gone out and no-one knows if they’re ever going to come on again.
Set in a world upended by a complete breakdown of society, two couples hide out in a lakeside cabin hoping to survive the crisis. As resources run low and external threats increase, they forge an uneasy alliance with their self-sufficient hippie neighbour. With no news from the outside world they can’t know how long they must endure living in such close quarters, and with such limited supplies.
One Hundred Mornings is the award winning debut feature of writer/director Conor Horgan (The Beholder, Deep End Dance) and producer Katie Holly for Bl!nder Films.
Starring Ciaran McMenamin (The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce, Primeval), Alex Reid (The Descent, Guinea pigs) Rory Keenan (Intermission, Zonad), Kelly Campbell (Bachelors Walk, Sensation), the film also features the exceptional photography of Suzie Lavelle, who won the Irish Film and Television Award for Best Cinematography 2010.
