Ecumenical conference on the environment

A Change of Climate: Breaking Bread on a Fragile Earth is the title of this year’s Glenstal Ecumenical Conference, which will take place from June 23-25 at Glenstal Abbey, Murroe, Co Limerick. Participants will explore how the Eucharist and the fruits of the earth may be celebrated from an environmental and ecological perspective.

The keynote address will be given by David Atkinson, Church of England Bishop of Thetford and author of ‘Renewing the Face of the Earth’. Bible studies will be led by Jan Sutch Pickard, former warden of Iona Abbey. The conference will be opened and closed by Rev Prof Michael Conway (Maynooth) and there will be a panel discussion, as well as a Market Place for those wishing to talk about their work on environmental issues from a faith perspective.
