Westport Eco Congregation has lobbied for over 3 years to have water fountains reconnected in Westport. We are delighted to report that the fruits of our efforts have finally been rewarded by Mayo County Council! Two water fountains have been installed so far – and we hear there may be another couple!
This will allow the public to refill their water bottles 24 hours a day! Hopefully this will lead to a reduction in the purchase of single use plastic water bottles!
Westport Eco Congregation is delighted that this long and at times frustrating campaign has been successful!
