Eco-Congregation Ireland is part of a network of Church “Greening” schemes across Britain and Ireland. We work with Eco Church England and Wales, Eco-Congregation Scotland, and Live Simply, the Catholic Church’s scheme for parishes across Britain.
Recently members of all four organisations met together in London, with others joining the meeting remotely. ECI’s representatives included Andrew Orr, Allan Sleith and Karen Nicholson. Each organisation outlined their current situation, and their plans for the future.
The scale of each organisation is very different (England and Wales employ seven full time staff!) but all share common goals and similar award schemes for churches. We discussed how we can support each other, obtain funding together and share resources. A very useful day and great to meet with others working with the same passion and enthusiasm!
