Encouraging news from the Methodist Church in Ireland! Conference has directed the Council on Social Responsibility to develop an environmental policy for the Church.
There have been various “recommendations” on an environmental theme over the past eight years. These have included energy conservation; that all churches engage in a programme which links the environment with their faith; and that church leaders and individuals lend their voice to development agencies and take the Copenhagen pledge (to name but a few).
This year “Conference directs the Council (on Social Responsibility) to develop an environmental policy for the Church”. 🙂
