Salesian Cosmology Group Retreat – ‘In Communion with the Sacred Universe’

Teresa Devine sent ECI this report:

We experienced this retreat as an inspiring week in June with Niamh Brennan and Colette Kane OP in the wonderful surroundings of An Tairseach. We enjoyed beautiful weather, peace and quiet and space to appreciate nature surrounding us, including Wicklow bay.

‘The entire material universe speaks of God’s love, his boundless affection for us.  Soil, water, mountains; everything is, as it were a caress of God.’ L Sí 84

Each session opened new avenues to really appreciate the ‘caress of God’ in the natural world and the pending dangers in our industrialised global community which seem to live out of a limited world view where the natural resources of Planet Earth are just used regardless of the consequences long term.

Throughout the past year our Cosmology Group have created links and we are now  working with the Limerick Diocesan Outreach Pastoral Team.

Ask the beasts and they will teach you;

the birds of the air, and they will tell you;

ask the plants of the earth and they will teach you;

and the fish of the sea will declare to you.” Book of Job (12, 7-8)
