On Sunday 22nd September churches from Galway gathered together for an Ecumenical Prayer Service for the Season of Creation, in the Franciscan Abbey Garden. The theme of this year’s service is to hope and act with creation, and it was attended by 70 people. The service was led by Fr Gabriel and representatives from the Church of Ireland, the Roman Catholic Church, the Methodist Church and the Society of Friends. The service included the lighting of the Eco-Congregation Ireland Climate Justice Candle, a hope and action prayer activity, and was followed by a blessing of pets and Guide dogs for the blind.
