ECI Climate Justice Candle Visits St Joseph’s Parish, Bonnybrook

Margo Delaney sent ECI this report:

Our parish celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd.

The occasion offered an opportunity to raise awareness of our responsibility to care for our earth.

It was a joy to have the ECI Justice Candle  in our sacred space as a focus for our efforts in encouraging us to protect our earth so that all peoples and all creation may flourish together.

The generosity of Fran and Tony Brady who delivered he ECI candle well in advance of April 22nd, allowed time to set up an informative and colourful display, with the ECI Candle holding pride of place.

Many people visited the ECI sacred space, including four generations of this beautiful family. It was a joy to welcome them, and their presence and interest brought life and hope to our celebrations. The future is bright when we are blessed with such vitality.

The parish was glad to welcome Archbishop Dermot Farrell who, together with our parish priest, Fr Paul O’ Driscoll, also visited our Earth Day space.

The bright evening rays of the evening sun obscure the proud stance of the ECI Candle. Only the green leaves and trunk of the Justice Tree are visible against the yellow background of the Easter wall hanging.
