On Sunday 1st October 2023 Lowe Church Finaghy hosted the ECI Climate Justice candle as part of a combined Creation Care/Harvest service. We had a different kind of harvest of second-hand children’s shoes which we collected on behalf of a charity who will send them to a child in need.
We thought this was a good way to recycle and help those in need at the same time. We spoke about what we had done as a church to care for creation and what we would like to do in the future. We talked about how we as Christians are stewards of God’s creation and our call to prioritise making choices which care for God’s creation. We prayed about the current environmental situation and our children and young people also had the theme of creation care in their groups. Thank you for letting us host the ECI candle!
