This summer is a season of hello and goodbyes in Westport. We were delighted to welcome Rev Suzanne Cousins the new Rector of Holy Trinity Church of Ireland. We are sad to say goodbye to Fr Charlie McDonnell as he moves to Athenry and we look forward to welcoming Fr John Kenny. Fr Charlie was extremely supportive and encouraging of Westport Eco Congregation’s activities to highlight climate change. Westport Eco Congregation highlighted Plastic Free July on their Facebook page daily and the parish newsletter carried practical tips and suggestions on ways to eliminate plastic from households.
