Westport Eco-Congregation continues to bring the public’s attention to issues on climate change and the environment through their weekly column in the local newspaper and parish newsletter. In addition we are very excited to join forces with other groups in Westport that are working on climate change issues. After many months of discussion One Westport has been formed. There are 10 groups represented in One Westport. The overarching aim is to have a quality of Life for Westport under the umbrella of sustainability. This can be achieved with Representation. Scale and Opportunities. We believe we can influence and achieve more if we are a united voice with the other groups working on issues such biodiversity, and travel. Tidy Towns, Coastal communities, Chamber of Commerce, Community Garden and many other groups are represented in One Westport. Individually each group will continue their own projects but will join forces to lobby on issues affecting the environment
