Niamh Hardiman sent us this report:
Churchtown Quakers are glad to have been able to host the Climate Justice Candle over two weekend days.
On Saturday 25 March, there was a large gathering of the Dublin Area Quaker Community who came together to consider our Vision and Strategy Plan for 2023-2026. The presence of the candle fitted well with our work of discerning how we bring forward our Quaker testimonies of openness to the Inward Light, simplicity in our living, the equality of all of humanity, and working in the life and power that takes away the occasion of all wars. The photo above shows some Friends from across all the Dublin Quaker Meetings.
On Sunday 26 March, the presence of the candle in our regular Meeting for Worship provided both the symbol of and a focus for our shared commitment to environmental care and climate justice. The photo below is of some Friends who belong to Churchtown Meeting.
Brian Ó Súilleabháin, who is the convenor of EcoQuakers Ireland, is in both photos.
