European Christian Environmental Network’s Enabling team adopted the decision to hold the next ECEN Assembly in 2023. After two online Assemblies, this will be the first face-to-face Assembly after the 2018 conference in Katowice. The event will take place from 31 August – 3 September in Roskilde (Denmark), under the title Every part of creation matters.
The Assembly will offer an opportunity to discuss the key concerns of rapidly developing eco-theology, assess developments related to key EU policy-shaping on a response to climate change and outline a vision of a sustainable future in Europe, as is formulated in the European Green Deal. At the same time, the Assembly will be an opportunity for discussion on the future of ECEN and the timing of the launch of the Churches Contributing to a Sustainable Future 2023 – 2030 project, a project that outlines the future of ECEN for the next period. A significant moment in the Assembly will be the 1 September launch of the Season of Creation 2023 as part of the Assembly programme.
The Assembly is an open event, all interested parties are invited. ECEN especially invites colleagues and friends engaged in works on care for creation in Denmark and neighbouring countries for participation in the Assembly. More information on the programme of the Assembly, as well as other details, will be made available in the coming weeks.
