At the end of October, A Rocha UK, led by the Northern Ireland Manager Bertie Stirling, launched its latest ‘Partner in Action’, The River Rectory in Northern Ireland near Omagh.

Owned and managed by the Pomeroy family, the site is an incredible mixture of six acres of woodland, food-growing areas, orchards and wet grassland. To celebrate the official partnership, Sarah-Jayne and Terry (parents) took Bertie and other guests on a guided tour of the site, highlighting the significant amount of drainage and ground preparation works over the previous two years.
Sarah-Jayne, who has recently gained her new postgraduate certificate in wildlife and conservation management, will help the family to plan a strategy for nature on the site in years to come. Their vision is to welcome both nature and the broader community in a season of ecological crises. A Rocha UK is delighted to welcome this amazing family to our growing network! A Rocha UK has just under 40 Partners in Action throughout the UK.
