Kathleen O’Connor sent us this latest update:
Prayer Service to mark the International day of Prayer for the Care of Creation and the beginning of the Season of Creation
The neighbouring parishes were invited and each local parish was represented. We also had a representative from the Church of Ireland and the Quaker community. The ecumenical dimension was much appreciated. We had singing, readings from Laudato Si, reflections and prayers. The theme was listening to the Voice of Creation. We were suitably placed to do that as we had our prayer service in Fr. Tom’s garden, part of the grounds belonging to the SMA Fathers. The symbol of the Burning Bush reminded us of the sacredness of our earth.
After the Service we gathered for a cup of tea in the parish centre.
