Fr Joe McVeigh sent ECI this news:
Sr Catherine, who was a valued member of Clogher JPIC group died last July. She belonged to the Sisters of Mercy Enniskillen for the last number of years. Before that she spent many years teaching in the National school in Ballyshannon.
In her memory the Clogher JPIC group organised a Christmas collection to help build a well in South Sudan. The actual amount raised came to £1,550 plus Euro 50. This is much more than we expected. We set out to try to raise £1000 -enough to fix a well in South Sudan. So we will now also be able to buy another valuable Trocaire gift with the extra money. The most generous response of so many in Enniskillen to our Appeal is a wonderful tribute to Sr Catherine who was a great supporter of Trocaire and who was deeply concerned about the poor and about the Earth. We, are confident that this money will help some poor people in our world to enjoy a better quality of life.
