The work of the Laudato Sí group has continued to grow over the past few months. The group is delighted to be a partner with GCCM and Trócaire for the “Our Common Home” project at the World Meeting of Families. Please volunteer to help us!
Season of Creation
There are plans in development to roll out the ‘Season of Creation’ across dioceses and parishes in September this year. Full details will follow shortly. Meantime please put the 29th September in your diary as “save the date” for a National Laudato Sí Forum in Maynooth to mark the Season of Creation.
Irish Divestment Momentum is building!
We are absolutely thrilled to hear that the Church of Ireland has made the bold decision do divest 100% from fossil fuels. Similarly, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery and the Northern Province of the Sisters of Mercy also joined the April divestment announcement. They join a growing number of Irish-based congregations and faith groups choosing to divest from climate harm and invest in a safe climate. The next faith-based Divestment announcement will take place on 13 September during the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco. If your congregation or group would like sign the pledge you can join here right away. You don’t need to have investments to join and you have up to 5 years to divest!
