Individuals, communities, churches, businesses and organisations across Europe will be finding new ways to reduce waste and change everyday behaviour.
Launching the week in Northern Ireland, Minister for the Environment Mark Durkan said: “Sustaining our planet for future generations is a huge responsibility on all our shoulder. Less dumping waste, more re-using and recycling plays a key role in that. European Week for Waste Reduction provides an ideal opportunity for everyone to participate in and show how even the smallest measure can make a huge difference to reducing landfill. So I am making a rallying call for all people to get involved.”
