Christian eco-warrior and author Ruth Valerio is coming to speak in Northern Ireland at the end of July!
She will address the topic of ‘Radical Obedience in a Consumer Culture’ during two seminars at New Horizons in the University of Ulster, Coleraine on July 23 & 24 at 11.45am.
She will also talk about ‘How do we live well as Christians in a Consumer Culture?’ at 7pm in the Moravian Church, Belfast on July 24. This event is co-sponsored by Eco-Congregation Ireland, A Rocha UK and Christians in Science. All welcome!
Ruth runs A Rocha’s Living Lightly initiative, she is a leader of Spring Harvest and a director of Cred Jewellery. She is involved in community regeneration, chairing the Community Association of the estate where she lives in Chichester and is involved in Transition Chichester. She holds a theology degree from Cambridge and an MA from the London School of Theology and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Kings College London, looking at the concept of simplicity and consumerism. She is a regular contributor to several magazines, including Families First, Christianity and Third Way.
