One of the most useful and proactive ways of combating the recession is to simplify our lifestyles – to buy less and use and reuse, or recycle, what we have.
Boring? Not necessarily. A new movement called Freecycle is a really positive way of acquiring and/or de-cluttering without impact on wallet or landfill .
Suggesting we “help change the world one gift at a time” Freecycle’s mission statement is “to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community.”
Free to join, with groups worldwide, including many in Ireland, north and south, it might well help with the disposal of unwanted gifts and the de-cluttering you have been meaning to do for ages. And you never know what treasures you might discover!
