Eco Congregation was mentioned recently on the Finglas Community Garden website where a hot debate has been brewing following a posting by a community gardener. Lara Hill wrote that “the miracle of multiplication” was brought home to her when she dug up a large head of garlic, which reminded her of the Genesis account of creation where God commanded the trees and plants to be fruitful and multiply.
She subsequently found herself in the position of having to defend her use of a Biblical image. In doing so, she went on to say that she thinks “the current eco congregation movement is a really encouraging example of Christianity in harmony with ecology”.
